Mountain Freshies First Delivery Information

Posted 6/25/2020 6:00pm by Nancy.

Greetings from Mountain Freshies!

We hope everyone is doing great and is as excited as we are for our season to start on July 8/9.  It will run for 15 weeks through October 14/15!

We just received this beautiful, taster box as a gift from the Austins, so full of flavor and nutrients!  It makes us super motivated to begin deliveries!  The funny looking purple veggie is kohlrabi!  Keep an eye out, as we'll be sharing a tasty recipe this season about how to cook with it!

With our season start rapidly approaching, it is easy to go online to make a payment, if you still have a balance due on your account.  Here is a link if you'd like to use PayPal, or you can mail us a check to P.O. Box 901, Paonia, CO  81428: http://austinfamilyfarm.csasignup.com/members/pay

You can check your membership status (what type of box you've ordered, your balance due, your pickup location etc) or place a hold on your weekly delivery through our website, http://austinfamilyfarm.csasignup.com/, under the Farm-to-Family Box drop down menu.  When you place your delivery on vacation hold, we'll deliver you a double box the following week or whatever week you choose.

We ask all Flex Box members to please send us your 8 dates for the season by July 1st.  For vacation holds and flex box changes, we kindly ask you notify us at least one week in advance with any changes, so we can adjust our harvest accordingly.

The first couple of weeks of delivery are typically a bit confusing for everyone, especially for those who are new to our Farm-to-Family service.  This year is particularly challenging as we've had to move some of our established drop locations due to covid.  You can expect an email from us two days prior to delivery day each week, with a notification showing your drop location address, hours for pickup etc.  Please note that you will receive this notification, even if your box is on hold for the week.  The website platform we use is a bit complicated to read, so next week we'll share a screenshot showing how to interpret your notification to determine if you are on the schedule or on hold.

Once we are a week or two into the season and everything is flowing smoothly, we'll start sharing information about how to order add-ons for your boxes that are available for most locations.  We are going to start out with Austin Family Honey, jams from Ella Farm, mushrooms and berries as-available, goat cheese options,, quinoa etc.  We are still in discussions on whether to offer eggs, as they are difficult to transport.

Social Media:  If you want the latest news and photos from the farms, please like and follow our pages on Facebook and Instagram!   https://www.facebook.com/mountainfreshies or https://www.instagram.com/mountainfreshies

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions!  We've got 2 weeks to go, we are here to help, and want your first delivery to go smoothly for you.

Wishing you much health and love from your team at Mountain Freshies!
